One mascara can give different results on thin and short eyelashes and different on thick and dense. That is why it’s so important to match the mascara primarily to the type of our eyelashes. To make our make-up easy and effective.

  • Short eyelashes need brushes with short and thick bristles, preferably narrowed at the end in order to reach every hair.
  • Sparse eyelashes need brushes with densely-spaced, thick and soft bristles.
  • Thick eyelashes are perfectly brushed with a large, silicone wands with widely-spaced bristles.
  • Long eyelashes need thick and wide brushes that will cope well with curling.

Having chosen the type of mascara brush that suits us best, we can think about mascara in terms of desired effects.

Mascara and make-up – which product to choose?

Depending on what type of make-up you want, you can reach for different mascaras. Other type is fine on a daily basis, other on a date and other on an important event. In an ideal world, every woman should own several different mascaras so that she is able to adjust the effect to her needs, occasions, etc.

For:

  • thickening effect – fluffy brush with a densely-spaced bristles,
  • lengthening effect – small brush that will lengthen the lashes,
  • curling effect – round brush in the shape of an hourglass,
  • voluminous effect – silicone brush with bristles of different length.

Obviously, if mascara is called thickening, it does not mean that it will only thicken your eyelashes. Before you buy a product, it’s good to check its brush, test it (if there is such a possibility) or review the opinions. This is the best and the easiest way to find out how a given product really works.

Universal mascara – does it exist at all?

It’s not entirely true that we need different mascaras with different brushes to get a distinctive effect in make-up. There are mascaras that have been composed so well that they meet all the requirements. Such universal products are suitable for everyone. Different effects can be obtained by properly designed brush and formula.

What kind of mascara can be called universal? The best ones are equipped with silicone, flexible brushes of medium size. It should also be narrowed at both ends to allow precise application at the corners of the eyes, and the bristles should be densely-spaced of different length.

Usually, it’s enough to apply one layer for natural effect, the next layer intensifies the effect. There is only one condition – the mascara cannot stick the lashes together and should have a velvet formula. Only then will it cope with any type of make-up and eyelash type.
